While the NHL’s Eastern Conference Finals is turning into a squash match, with the Florida Panthers completely walking the dog on the Carolina Hurricanes, the battle out West is a far fairer fight (at least for now). A hot goalie can make all the difference in a playoff run for a team – a goalie in a purple patch can be ridden right to sipping champagne from Lord Stanley’s Cup in June. And the Edmonton Oilers have themselves a hot goalie in Stuart Skinner.
Their backup goalie, Stuart Skinner, to be exact, as playoff starter Calvin Pickard is out injured. But Skinner has stopped every puck sent his way in three of the last four games, a hot streak if there ever was one.
This is bad news for the Dallas Stars, as is the fact that the Oilers are 4-1 at home these playoffs, and Dallas is only 2-4 on the road. Edmonton on the moneyline kicks off our parlay.
And we’re adding a play on the under 6.5 goals for the game. Skinner isn’t letting much behind him these days, and the high-scoring Oilers haven’t been scoring much lately.
