Injuries are always a saddening part of football but they are a part of the game. Carson Wentz was reminded of that the hard way as he suffered a serious foot injury. As a result, Wentz had to undergo surgery and he will be out for the start of the regular season. However, the most underrated part of the injury diagnosis is the lack of certainty regarding when he might return. He is projected to miss 5-12 weeks which means that he could miss between one and seven games. Even if Wentz is able to perform well when he returns, keeping him on a fantasy football roster has serious drawbacks since he will prevent you from using that roster spot on an active player.

Wentz also only played in 12 games last season so there is the possibility of him being washed up. Plus, Wentz tended to hold onto the ball for too long and that issue should not correct itself overnight. Wentz might become a sleeper quarterback by the season’s end. However, there are too many uncertainties for him to be an attractive option early on into fantasy football.

After threatening to hold out or to retire, Aaron Rodgers finally put their minds at ease by reporting to training camp. While rumors circulated about Rodgers’ desire to leave, those plans will have to wait until 2022. As for fantasy football, he is back to being an elite quarterback option after winning his third MVP award. Last season, he recorded 4,299 ing yards and 48 touchdown es so he should have another solid season in 2021.

While another MVP season seems unlikely, he is more than capable of being the MVP in your fantasy football leagues. However, he is still 37-years-old so expect him to run a bit less moving forward which should result in a bit of a dip regarding his rushing statistics. Justin Fields (QB) Chicago Bears 313t

While Bears fans and fantasy football owners were hoping to see an athletic rookie behind center in Chicago this season, it is looking increasingly unlikely to occur based on what has transpired in training camp up to this point. According to initial reports, starting quarterback Andy Dalton has looked very comfortable which should cause Justin Fields to sit on the bench for at least the first few games in the regular season.

It is definitely possible for Fields to perform extremely well in the NFL preseason games to create a 2o12 Russell Wilson situation but I simply do not see that happening here. Unless Dalton falls apart or gets injured over the next few weeks, I cannot draft a Fields. Especially knowing that he will be more likely to sit on the bench than to play actual snaps for the Bears early on into his professional career.
