The longest race of the NASCAR season is here as the stars of NASCAR’s Cup Series get ready to strap in for 600 miles of action this Memorial Day weekend. Kyle Larson will once again attempt to complete the double, competing in both the Indianapolis 500 and Coca-Cola 600. Let’s take a look at this week’s NASCAR picks, odds, and best bets for the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Charlotte Motor Speedway is another 1.5-mile track that has delivered exciting racing in the 7th Generation Cup cars. Coverage for the Coke 600 will be the first of five races on Amazon Prime. If you sign up for the free 30-day trial on Sunday morning before the race, you’ll be able to watch all five races through Pocono on June 22nd during that trial period.
The Coke 600 used to be known as a test of both man and machine. That’s not as true as it used to be, as the cars are built more reliably these days. But there are drivers who are better at going the extra distance than others. Keep in mind this race is a whole 200 miles longer than the other 1.5-mile races we’ve seen at Kansas, Texas, and Las Vegas. One final note before the picks, there are four stages in this race. The only race of the year that features three stages that all pay points during the race.

NASCAR Picks: Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway Odds and Best Bets 1v4y2k
William Byron Over Tyler Reddick (+100) 3q3v1i
Tyler Reddick has been really good in this race. He finished fourth last year, fifth in 2023 and sixth in 2022. That makes betting against him no easy task. Willam Byron however, finished third last season and second in 2023, giving him the head to head edge over Reddick in the last two races here.
Reddick has also struggled this season. In the three comparison 1.5-mile races this year, his best finish is just 17th at Kansas Speedway. Reddick only has two top-10 finishes in the last nine races this season. Byron is two for three beating Reddick on those tracks, including a fourth-place finish at Las Vegas. In that same nine-race span, Byron has five top-10 finishes. He’s been the more reliable driver lately and has gotten the better of Reddick in this race the last two times.
John Hunter Nemechek Top 10 (+550) 512s3a
John Hunter Nemechek and the entire Legacy Motor Club team have really caught my eye lately. He’s coming off of racing his way into the All-Star race last week, just a week after finishing 10th at a Kansas track that compares well to Charlotte. He finished eighth at Texas, another 1.5-mile track, just the week before Kansas. Teammate Erik Jones was the best finishing Toyota car at Texas with a fifth-place run.
Nemechek finished 30th last season, but that was amid massive struggles for the team as they made the switch to Toyota. In his only previous start in 2020, he scored a solid 16th-place finish. Nemechek, top finishing Toyota at 66/1, is also a fun long shot that just might hit this weekend.
Chase Elliott to Win (+1700) 3r2n1t
It’s splitting hairs with the favorites this week. Larson will be coming from Indy, Hamlin and Reddick are always good in this race, Byron and Bell can never be counted out. So I’m digging a little deeper into the odds and looking for someone whom I can get value on. Chase Elliott’s been lagging behind his Hendrick teammates for a little while now, but we saw a glimpse of what’s possible two weeks ago at Kansas. Elliott stayed near the front all day, and when he got his shot, he was fast and led for a while.
A slow pit stop cost him the chance at the win, but I saw enough to think he can put it together in the long run. If you just look at his NextGen starts in the Coke 600, it’s not great. 33rd in 2022, and 34 in 2023. But, he led 86 laps and won stage 1 before a wreck in 22. 2023 was the incident with Denny Hamlin. I’m throwing those two races out and clinging to his seventh-place run last year. Along with how good he’s been in this race in the past.
He finished second here in 2021 and 2020 and also won the 500-miler that was run the same week at the 600 in 2020. He also finished fourth in 2019. Elliott is on a 39-race winless streak, but at 16/1 in a Hendrick Motorsports car. Taking into his history at this track and what we just saw at Kansas, I like him to win this week.
