window.tgpQueue.add('tgpli-6830f98c9e0f7') The NBA playoffs have been pretty wild. It hasn’t been all that easy to call which teams will be hot. However, what is easier to predict is the first bucket props. We got hot on the hardwood on Sunday night and hit an individual first bucket at +500. We’ll look to replicate out success yet again with a pair of plays for May 12. We’ve run the data, we’ve look at the trends – now, come check out our first bucket props for May 12. 673239
In the first of the evening games, we’ll see the Celtics visit New York. The nightcap will see the Timberwolves heading out west to face the Warriors.

The first series we’ll examine hasn’t really been following the numbers at this stage. The Celtics are clearly the team we’d favor in first bucket situations. They have a 11.6% lead when it comes to winning the tip and an additional 6.4% lead when it comes to scoring those chances. Despite that, they’ve lost two of the three jumpballs – although they have scored first twice. I expect the tip to regress back to the mean in this one. As a result, we should see a first bucket for the Celtics, which you can get right now at -160.
If we’re looking for an individual player, I’m not looking any further than Jaylen Brown. He has two things going for him at the moment. The first one is that he has seen a lot of the early shot attempts. In the series, he s for 33.3% of the Celtics first three shots. Additionally, he saw a good chunk of the action in Game 3. He took 19 shots, which just barely came in behind Jayson Tatum for the team lead. That volume, particularly early, is promising and worth riding in Game 4.
First Bucket Bet for May 12: Jaylen Brown (+500)
Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Golden State Warriors 1v6g4f
Tipoff – 10:00 pm EST
Chase Center – San Francisco, CA
Broadcast – ESPN
This is yet another series where the jump isn’t going exactly the way we expected. The Timberwolves had the better season average by 15.4% when it came to winning the tip. However, despite that fact, they still have won the tip only once during this series. They did manage to score first twice, which would be even easier if they were actually winning the tip. Much like the Celtics, I can’t imagine this trend staying this way. As a result, I expect them to get the tip and an early score.
For my individual player in this one, I like Mike Conley. The guard was all over the early shot attempts in Game 1 and 2. He took the second shot in each game and was right in the thick of things. However, he saw a bit of a lapse in action in Game 3. As a result, his number has dropped quite a bit here. For the value, I love the idea of him reverting back to what we saw prior.
First Bucket Bet for May 12: Mike Conley (+750)
