While the home French squad is 2-0 in group play, it hasn’t been easy going for them. They needed overtime to beat an overmatched Japanese team in their last game. Meanwhile, the German team has been steamrolling the competition (and beat Japan by 20 points).

The main issue for is that their guards aren’t good enough to compete at the elite level. While Victor Wembanyama and Rudy Gobert can get you pretty far, it probably won’t be enough to beat a deep, talented German team led by Franz Wagner. -3.5 is my Olympics best bet for Friday.
