Jalin Hyatt was a 4-star recruit out of Irmo, South Carolina. He was setting Irmo records in receiving yards and touchdowns. He went on to play a small complementary role in 2020 and 2021 but exploded in 2022, leading to his winning the Biletnikoff Award as the nation’s best receiver.

Jalin Hyatt was not on the list of wide receivers to watch moving into the 2022 season. In week 2 of the college football season, he had an 11-catch performance that got the community chat.
Then he exploded with the speed that we grew to love against Akron, with five catches for 166 yards and two touchdowns. He never looked back after scoring touchdowns of 57 yards, 48 yards, 45 yards, 60 yards, 78 yards, 66 yards, 55 yards, and 68 yards. He is an explosive playmaking machine.

Speed
His speed may be unrivaled in this draft class. I expect him to be one of, if not the fastest, wide receiver in the class.
Hands
He is a natural hands catcher. When you watch all those deep touchdowns, he doesn’t allow them to get into his body or arms; he utilizes his hands.
Yards After the Catch
A lot of this is his ability to burn corners on deep routes. He managed the 10th most yards after the catch per reception out of all college football among wide receivers with 80 or more targets.

Production
One year of production is always a flag for me, especially for guys who have really one specialty being speed.
Route Running
He has a pretty limited route tree and isn’t the best at modulating his speed in situations. This needs to be addressed by his wide receiver coach in the NFL.
Outside Experience
Over 87% of his snaps came from the slot, which isn’t necessarily a negative, but he needs to be able to use his speed on the outside as well. He will 100% be a slot wide receiver at the next level, not only because of this but also because of his size.
