One half of my parlay on Wednesday looked doomed, and the other half looked sure to hit, and then the third period of Game 1 between the Edmonton Oilers and the Dallas Stars began, and the Stars found the back of the net five times. So Dallas on the moneyline hit; the under 6.5 goals certainly did not.
So I definitely feel confident in backing the Stars at home for Game 2. They are 7-1 now at the American Airlines Center these playoffs, and they should have Edmonton’s goalie, Stuart Skinner, shook.
Now, do I go with the under or the over? With the inconsistent Skinner between the pipes with Calvin Pickard still on the sidelines, and both offenses capable of explosive efforts, I say we take the over. Eight of Edmonton’s 12 playoff games have gone over 6.5 goals, and Dallas actually outscored Edmonton during the regular season, so they’re capable of lighting the lamp.
