Tipoff – 8:30 pm EST
Target Center – Minneapolis, MN
Broadcast – TNT
On the opening tip of game one, Draymond Green won his squad the first possession and they sunk the first shot. If you look at the season-long data, that’s a surprising one. Green trails Rudy Gobert in tip win percentage by 9.4% on the season. However, that marks the second time the two have tipped off against one another on the year, and Green has won both of them. They also jumped each other twice last year and Green won both of those as well. With the Warriors shooting as well as they have in this series and the run that Green is on against Gobert, I’ll take the Warriors to score first.
The two names I like for the first bucket on Thursday are Buddy Hield and Jimmy Butler. Both of them were featured in the early part of the shot Game 1. Additionally, they led the Warriors in shot attempts with 19 and 20 respectively. Butler was a bit more active on the first bucket during the regular season, which will serve as our tiebreaker.
First Bucket Bet for May 8: Jimmy Butler (+700)
