Only one more day before we can put crappy January to bed for another year (although I’m pretty much breaking even on my best bets this month). The Purdue Boilermakers pretty much haven’t missed a beat with their two-time national player of the year Zach Edey off in the NBA this season. Purdue is 16-5, 8-2 in the Big Ten, and has been ranked all season. The Indiana Hoosiers started the season off ranked, but dropped out after back-to-back losses in late November, and now have lost two straight and four of their last five.
The Boilermakers have been almost untouchable at home in the Mackey Arena, going 10-1 thus far, only dropping a game to Ohio State last week. When you consider their historic home court advantage (worth 4.54 points), their point differential, and strength of schedule, I’ve come up with the line of Purdue -14.5. So the Boilermakers on the spread is my best bet for Friday.
