2020 Orlando Magic Review 5x3m43
The Orlando Magic finished with a record of 21-51 last season, second-worst in the Eastern Conference. As a result, it netted the Magic the fifth overall pick in the NBA Draft. The Magic blew up the team at the trade deadline and officially started building for the future. The Magic traded away Nikola Vucevic to the Bulls, netting a group of players along with a 2021 first-round pick. Furthermore, the Magic also traded Evan Fournier to the Boston Celtics and Aaron Gordon to the Denver Nuggets for young talent.
What’s New for 21/22 2d2ku
The first order of business for the Orlando Magic was hiring a new head coach. Jamahl Mosley takes over the head coaching duties for the Magic, replacing Steve Clifford. In addition, the Magic added highly coveted former Gonzaga point guard Jalen Suggs. Also, the Magic added Michigan forward Franz Wagner. The youth movement is well underway for the Magic. There is plenty of young talent on this team such as Cole Anthony, Mo Bamba, Wendell Carter Jr, and Jonathan Isaac, to name a few!

As I mentioned above, the Orlando Magic come into the season with plenty of young talent and a new head coach. As exciting it will be in Orlando with Suggs, Anthony, and Wagner I am not sure it will translate to wins. I believe they will go through the growing pains typical of a young team. The Magic will be at the bottom of the Eastern Conference once again and look to net a lottery pick. That is not necessarily bad news for the Magic. They started the rebuild with Suggs, who will be a future star in this league. However, we all know it takes two to three stars to be a legitimate title contender.

Jalen Suggs Rookie of the Year +700 3m173c
I was impressed with the performance of Jalen Suggs in the NBA Summer League. I was more impressed with the rebounding abilities and what he was able to do on the defensive end. Suggs will insert himself as a starter on this team and be the face of the franchise moving forward. Furthermore, Suggs was one of the best basketball players in college last year. At a price of +700, I think there is value in this number.

As exciting as the backcourt is for the Magic, the frontcourt has great potential. As I mentioned above, Wendell Carter Jr and Mo Bamba can take the next step forward in their young careers. Now that Vucevic has moved on to a new franchise that certainly left plenty of points and rebounds to be taken. Mo Bamba should be that guy now for the Magic. Bamba is a player who can average double-digit points and close to double figure rebounding for the Magic.
There is a great amount of depth at the guard position for the Magic. That includes names like Markelle Fultz, R.J. Hampton, and Gary Harris. This log jam is going to create a player or two not get the playing time. I believe Gary Harris will not be on this roster come the trade deadline. He is an asset and wing player that a contending team can utilize.
